As the day slowly drifted into evening, the sky began to glow with soft shades of orange, pink, and golden yellow. Smart little monkey Cubis, who had been resting on the porch, suddenly sat up and turned to his dad with bright, thoughtful eyes. With a gentle tug on Dad’s hand and a cheeky little smile, Cubis made his adorable request, “Dad, let’s go for a walk and watch the sunset together!”
Dad was caught by surprise but couldn’t resist Cubis’s sweet charm. After a quick chuckle, he stood up and stretched. “Alright, Cubis. That’s a great idea,” he said warmly. And just like that, the two of them headed off down the quiet path behind their house, surrounded by trees rustling in the evening breeze.
Cubis walked proudly by Dad’s side, occasionally skipping with excitement. He pointed up at the sky with curiosity, asking all sorts of questions: “Why does the sun turn orange? Do the clouds get sleepy too?” Dad answered each one with patience, smiling at how smart and observant Cubis had become.
They reached a little hill where the view was wide and open. From there, the sun was slowly sinking behind the mountains, painting the sky with colors so beautiful they both paused in silent awe. Cubis sat in Dad’s lap, leaning his head gently on his chest. He let out a soft sigh, “It’s so pretty, Dad.”
“Yes, it is,” Dad replied, wrapping his arms around Cubis. “And I’m glad we got to see it together.”
As the last rays of sunlight dipped below the horizon, Cubis felt a sense of calm and happiness. The world seemed to slow down just for them. This simple walk had turned into a magical memory—a moment between father and son, shared under the glowing sky.
When they walked home hand in hand, Cubis looked up and said, “Let’s watch the sunset again tomorrow, okay?”
Dad smiled. “Always, buddy.”
