Monkey Lyly is Cold Because She Secretly Played in the Rain While Her Mother Was Sleeping Soundly

Monkey Lyly was full of mischief from the moment the first raindrops hit the rooftop. The skies had darkened, the wind had picked up, and a gentle drizzle began to fall—but none of that stopped Lyly’s curiosity. While her mother lay sound asleep inside their cozy shelter, Lyly’s eyes sparkled with excitement. She tiptoed outside, not wanting to wake her, and ran straight into the rain with a giggle.

The wet leaves, muddy puddles, and the smell of fresh rain made everything feel like an adventure. Lyly leapt from branch to branch, her tiny hands and feet slipping slightly on the damp bark. She splashed in puddles, shook water off the bushes, and even tried to catch raindrops with her tongue. For a little while, she forgot all about the cold.

But the rain didn’t stay light for long. Soon, it turned into a steady downpour. Lyly’s fur was soaked, her fingers numb, and her teeth began to chatter. Only then did she realize—she had gone too far. She shivered, hugging herself, and quickly made her way back home, her tail dragging behind her, heavy with water.

When she slipped quietly back inside, her mother was still sleeping peacefully. Lyly curled up in the corner, hoping to warm herself without getting caught. But her sneezes gave her away.

Her mother woke with a start, immediately noticing her drenched little one. “Lyly! What happened?” she gasped, rushing over. Lyly looked up with guilty eyes, sniffling as she whispered, “I played in the rain, Mama… I’m sorry.”

With a sigh, her mother wrapped her in a soft cloth and gently dried her fur. “You could’ve gotten sick, baby,” she said, kissing Lyly’s forehead. As Lyly nuzzled into her mother’s warm arms, she promised never to sneak out again—especially in the rain.

It was a chilly lesson learned, but Lyly was safe, and that’s all that mattered.
