Little monkey Lyly had always been known for her playful spirit and mischievous grin. She was curious about everything, especially the big shiny camera that followed her and her family around. One afternoon, when her mother wasn’t watching, Lyly did something she knew she wasn’t supposed to—she teamed up with the cameraman for a sneaky little adventure.
While her mother was resting, Lyly signaled to the cameraman and quietly tiptoed away. The two wandered into the backyard, where Lyly had seen a jar of sweet treats hidden behind the shed. She climbed up and pointed at the jar, and the cameraman, laughing at her cleverness, helped her open it. Lyly quickly grabbed a handful of the colorful treats and munched happily, licking her fingers and chattering excitedly.
But it didn’t take long for her mother to notice her absence. When she followed the faint giggles to the backyard, she caught Lyly red-handed—crumbs on her face, the jar open, and the cameraman sheepishly holding the lid. Her mother didn’t get angry, but her disappointed eyes said everything. Lyly’s ears drooped, and she lowered her head in shame.
Later that evening, Lyly approached her mom slowly, carrying a flower she had picked in the garden. She offered it with tiny hands and bowed her head. She gently touched her mother’s arm, made a few soft sounds, and leaned in to hug her. The message was clear: she was sorry.
Her mother accepted the apology, hugging her back and grooming her hair as a sign of forgiveness. Lyly had learned an important lesson about honesty and trust. From that day on, she made sure to ask before doing anything with the cameraman—and she never forgot how much her mother’s love meant to her.
Even little monkeys like Lyly make mistakes, but with a sincere heart and a little courage, even the smallest apology can lead to a stronger bond.
