Grandpa Cries at the Bad People’s Treatment of Luna and Nana

Grandpa had always been the strong, silent type. He didn’t show emotion easily, and his stories were usually told with a calm voice and a gentle smile. But today, his hands trembled, and tears streamed down his weathered cheeks as he sat beside Luna and Nana, the two gentle souls who had suffered far too much at the hands of cruel people.

Luna, the timid white cat, and Nana, the frail little dog, were once full of life. They had known love before — someone had cared for them once. But then, for reasons no animal could ever understand, they were abandoned. Worse, they weren’t just left behind — they were mistreated. Their bodies bore signs of neglect: matted fur, thin frames, and scars that told stories of pain. Grandpa had found them huddled behind his shed one chilly morning, frightened and broken.

When he gently reached for them, they didn’t run — they didn’t have the strength. As he wrapped them in a warm blanket and whispered, “You’re safe now,” something in him cracked wide open. He couldn’t hold back the tears as he realized the depth of suffering they’d endured.

“I don’t understand how anyone could be so heartless,” Grandpa said, voice choked with emotion. “They’re just babies. They trusted people.”

He spent the next hours tending to their wounds, feeding them soft food, and letting them rest in peace for the first time in what must have been weeks. Slowly, Luna blinked up at him, her tired eyes showing a glimmer of hope. Nana wagged her tail faintly, inching closer to his leg.

That simple gesture brought more tears to Grandpa’s eyes.

“You still believe in kindness, don’t you?” he whispered, stroking their heads. “Well, I promise — no one will ever hurt you again.”

In that quiet moment, love began to replace the pain, and Grandpa made a silent vow: to be the guardian they always deserved.
