Lala hadn’t expected today to be anything special. She was just out for her usual walk through the market, humming to herself and picking out some fresh fruit. The sun was warm on her face, and the bustle of people kept her mind distracted. It had been many days since she’d last seen CEO Kien, and though she tried to stay strong, a part of her missed him deeply.
Their last meeting had ended in silence. He had been so busy, always surrounded by assistants and phone calls. Lala didn’t blame him—he had responsibilities—but it still hurt to be left behind without a word. She had promised herself she would move on and not let her heart get tangled in hopes again.
But fate, it seemed, had other plans.
As she turned the corner near a flower stall, Lala suddenly stopped in her tracks. There he was. CEO Kien. Standing tall in a crisp suit, his phone in one hand, his eyes scanning the crowd—until they met hers. For a moment, everything else faded.
“Lala?” he said, surprised but warm.
Her heart skipped. “Kien… I didn’t think I’d see you again.”
He walked toward her, his expression softening. “I’ve been looking for you. Work pulled me away longer than I thought, but I should have called. I’m sorry.”
Lala blinked, unsure whether to smile or cry. “I thought you forgot me.”
“Never,” he said simply.
They stood quietly for a moment, then laughed—both feeling the same flood of relief. It was as if the days apart melted away with that one unexpected meeting.
Under the shade of the flower stall, with petals gently falling around them, they began again—not with grand gestures, but with small, honest words.
