Cubis is a curious little monkey with a big imagination—and an even bigger appetite for adventure. One sunny morning, while Dad was busy fixing the fence, Cubis overheard the distant buzz of the village market. The sound of vendors shouting, kids laughing, and food sizzling on grills was too tempting to resist. He knew he wasn’t allowed to go alone, but Cubis hatched a sneaky plan. If he tiptoed through the back garden and climbed over the fence, maybe he could enjoy a quick market trip without Dad ever noticing.
With quiet steps and a mischievous grin, Cubis made his way out. At first, everything was exciting! He watched street performers juggle, grabbed a few juicy mango samples, and even tried to help an old lady carry her bag—earning a sweet banana candy in return. But things quickly spiraled out of control.
While admiring some shiny toys at a stall, Cubis accidentally knocked over a basket of eggs! The stall owner yelled, people turned to look, and poor Cubis panicked. In his rush to escape the scene, he tripped over a cart wheel and fell right into a barrel of flour, sending puffs of white dust everywhere.
Covered head to toe in flour, Cubis ran, but it was too late—Dad was there. He’d figured out Cubis was missing and followed his tiny footprints straight to the market. One look at his messy, guilty-faced son was all it took for Dad to sigh, trying hard not to laugh.
Back home, Cubis got a scolding—but also a warm bath and a lesson. “Next time,” Dad said, “just ask. We’ll go together.”
Cubis may have gotten into trouble, but in the end, he learned that sneaky adventures aren’t worth the worry they bring—and the market is always more fun with Dad anyway.
