Lala was full of energy that morning, bouncing around the house like a little ball of chaos. She was in one of her playful moods—the kind that made everyone laugh and worry at the same time. Nothing could slow her down. She climbed onto chairs, leapt from sofa to sofa, and darted through the hallway like she was in a race against herself.
But then, her mischievous streak got the better of her.
While chasing a toy she had tossed across the room, Lala jumped onto the edge of a low table and tried to leap onto a stack of cushions near the window. Except… the cushions weren’t as stable as she thought. They slipped right out from under her, and with a small yelp, Lala tumbled down and landed awkwardly on her leg.
She sat there for a moment, blinking in shock. Then came the whimper. It wasn’t loud, but it was enough to make Mom rush over instantly.
“Oh no, Lala!” Mom cried, scooping her up gently.
Lala clung to Mom, her tail wrapped tightly around her arm, and her big eyes filled with tears. Her little leg was sore, and she didn’t want to move it. She wasn’t crying loudly, but the look on her face showed she knew she had gone too far this time.
Mom checked her leg carefully and thankfully found no break—just a small sprain. Still, it was enough to keep Lala from her usual wild adventures. She was wrapped in a soft blanket, her leg bandaged with care, and placed on the couch to rest.
For the rest of the day, Lala stayed still, letting Mom fuss over her. She even looked a little guilty, as if she knew her mischief had caught up with her. But deep down, Mom knew it wouldn’t be long before Lala was back to her playful self—just maybe a little more careful next time.
