It was a sunny afternoon, and Cubis the monkey was in a great mood. He had just finished playing with his toys and was now wandering around the kitchen, looking for something interesting to snack on. That’s when he spotted it—a large, spiky, strange-looking fruit sitting on the counter. Cubis tilted his head, eyes wide with curiosity. What was that thing?
It was a durian—the “king of fruits”—and it was about to make Cubis the star of a hilarious moment.
As soon as Dad sliced it open, the smell hit the air. Cubis sniffed once… then again. And then—POOF!—he jumped back dramatically, his little hands waving in the air like he’d just seen a ghost. His nose scrunched up, lips puckered, and he let out the funniest “eeeek!” sound ever heard in the kitchen.
Dad burst out laughing as Cubis frantically fanned his face with his tiny paws, clearly overwhelmed by the durian’s famously strong odor. But Cubis wasn’t done. He crept closer again, cautious but curious, peeking into the open fruit like it was some mysterious alien object. He leaned in slowly… took another sniff… and then instantly bolted across the room like a rocket!
He ran in circles, flapping his arms, then rolled onto the floor dramatically, covering his nose with both hands. If that wasn’t enough, he climbed onto the couch, peeked over the pillow like he was in hiding, and gave Dad the most offended look ever—as if to say, “How dare you bring this stinky thing into my home!”
Dad laughed so hard he nearly dropped his camera. Luckily, he caught the whole thing on video—and it quickly became a family favorite.
In the end, Cubis refused to go near the durian again. But one thing’s for sure: no fruit has ever caused such a funny scene in the house. And Cubis? He’ll stick to bananas from now on, thank you very much!
