A Cat Who Has Lost Her Kittens Does Not Want the Rest of Her Kittens to Be Lost

In the quiet corner of an old alley, a mother cat named Miu searched desperately, her eyes filled with sorrow. A few days ago, a storm had swept through the area, and in the chaos, she had lost two of her precious kittens. She had searched tirelessly, crying through the night, calling out with soft, heartbroken meows — but they were gone.

Now, Miu had only three kittens left, small and fragile, still learning to open their eyes and find their paws. She kept them close beneath a wooden crate, hidden away from the dangers of the world. Every little sound made her ears twitch. Every shadow passing by made her body tense. She had already lost too much, and she would not allow anything to happen to the ones she had left.

She rarely left their side. Even when hunger gnawed at her belly, Miu stayed, gently licking her babies to keep them warm and comforted. When she had no choice but to go out for food, she made sure the spot was safe, covered in leaves and cardboard scraps to disguise their scent and sight. Her instincts were fierce, and her heart ached with determination.

One day, a kind woman named Hana noticed Miu scavenging near a trash bin. She watched as Miu grabbed scraps of food but never ate — instead, she darted off with them. Curious, Hana followed. What she saw melted her heart: the devoted cat feeding her little ones in their hidden shelter.

Hana returned the next day with a soft blanket and a box of food. Slowly, she gained Miu’s trust. With time, the little family was brought into Hana’s home — safe, warm, and loved.

Miu still sometimes gazed out the window, her eyes remembering the lost. But she no longer feared for her remaining kittens. They were safe, and she could finally rest — knowing that love had found them.
