Something strange was going on with little Pupu today. Normally full of energy and silly antics, he suddenly became quiet, lying down with a pout and a few fake coughs. His mom rushed over, concerned. “Pupu, are you okay?” she asked, gently touching his forehead. He let out a dramatic sigh and curled up even tighter, eyes peeking up at her.
But Mom noticed something odd. Just yesterday, Pupu had been full of energy, climbing, playing, and even stealing a bite of banana from his sister Poki. So why the sudden “illness”?
The answer became clearer when Poki came over with her favorite toy and got an extra cuddle from Mom. Pupu’s eyes narrowed, and he let out another exaggerated little groan. Aha! This wasn’t a fever—it was jealousy.
Ever since Poki had gotten a little more attention due to her recent bath and new toy, Pupu had been acting just a little more dramatic. He missed being the center of attention, and what better way to bring it back than by pretending to be under the weather?
Mom couldn’t help but giggle once she figured it out. She gave Pupu a gentle pat on the head, leaned in, and whispered, “You little trickster.” His eyes lit up just a bit—he’d been caught, but he didn’t mind. After all, the plan worked! Mom wrapped him in a cozy blanket and sat beside him, giving him the cuddles he craved.
Poki joined in, not realizing what was going on, and brought Pupu her toy to make him “feel better.” It melted Mom’s heart to see the two siblings close, even if one of them was faking his symptoms.
By the end of the day, Pupu had “miraculously recovered” and was back to his mischievous self. But Mom would always remember the day he pretended to be sick—just to get a little extra love. Maybe he was jealous, but deep down, he just wanted to feel special too.
