It was a rainy afternoon, and Pupu and Poki sat by the window, watching the raindrops race down the glass. The sky was gray, and they both felt a little bored and sleepy. “I wish something exciting would happen,” Poki sighed, resting his chin on his paws.
Just then, they heard soft footsteps and the creak of the front door opening. Their ears perked up as their mom walked in, holding something behind her back. Her eyes sparkled, and she had a playful smile on her face.
“I have a surprise for you two,” she said.
Pupu and Poki leapt to their feet, their tails wagging with excitement. “What is it, Mom? What is it?” they asked in unison.
She slowly revealed a large, colorful box wrapped in shiny paper with a bright red bow. The box wiggled just a little. Pupu gasped. “It moved!” Poki’s eyes grew wide. “Is it alive?”
Mom gently set the box down and said, “Why don’t you open it and see?”
Together, they tore off the wrapping paper and opened the lid. Inside was the softest, fluffiest little puppy they had ever seen. Its tiny nose twitched, and it let out a playful bark before tumbling into Poki’s arms.
“A puppy!” they both shouted with joy. “What’s its name?”
Mom chuckled, “That’s up to you two. He’s part of the family now.”
Pupu carefully lifted the puppy and whispered, “Let’s call him Coco.” Poki nodded in agreement. “Coco it is!”
The rest of the day was filled with laughter, cuddles, and playful barks as Coco explored his new home. The rain outside didn’t seem so gloomy anymore. With their surprise gift bringing so much joy, Pupu and Poki knew this would be a day they’d never forget.
And from that day on, the three of them were inseparable—three best friends, full of love, and ready for every adventure ahead.
