BiBi volunteers to cut his nails after making Mom cry

BiBi the little monkey had always hated getting his nails cut. Every time Mom brought out the nail clippers, BiBi would run, hide, or throw a tantrum. He didn’t understand why Mom insisted on it. “They’re MY nails!” he would grumble. But Mom only wanted to keep him clean and safe.

One afternoon, things got out of hand. Mom gently asked BiBi to sit down so she could trim his nails. But BiBi shouted, kicked his feet, and knocked over a cup of juice in frustration. The mess was everywhere—on the floor, on the couch, even on Mom’s clothes.

Mom didn’t say much. She quietly cleaned the mess, sat down, and wiped her eyes. That’s when BiBi noticed… she was crying. His heart sank. He had never meant to hurt her feelings. Seeing the tears on her face made BiBi feel something deep inside—guilt, sadness, and a big wave of love for his mother.

He slowly walked up to her and touched her hand. “Mom,” he said softly, “I’m sorry I made you cry. You just wanted to help me, and I acted like a baby.”

Mom looked at him, surprised but touched by his honesty.

BiBi took a deep breath and held out his tiny hand. “Let’s cut my nails now. I want to be brave… and I want to make you smile again.”

Mom smiled through her tears. Gently, she trimmed his nails while BiBi sat still like a little hero.

When they were done, BiBi proudly looked at his clean hands and hugged his mom tight. “Next time, I’ll remember that you’re helping because you love me,” he whispered.

From that day on, BiBi didn’t fuss about nail trimming anymore. He learned that sometimes doing things we don’t like is part of growing up—and showing love in return.
