Who Eats More Sweet Potatoes, Monkey Pupu or Poki?

In the heart of the jungle, two mischievous monkeys, Pupu and Poki, were known for their endless games, playful chatter, and—most importantly—their love of sweet potatoes. Every morning, the two would race through the trees to Grandma Mango’s garden, where the sweetest sweet potatoes grew.

Monkey Pupu was fast and sneaky. He had a habit of grabbing as many sweet potatoes as he could carry and hiding them in his secret stash behind the banana grove. Poki, on the other hand, was slower but clever. He’d charm Grandma Mango with his silly dances and wide, innocent eyes. She’d laugh and give him extra sweet potatoes, completely enchanted.

The jungle animals often debated: Who eats more sweet potatoes, Monkey Pupu or Poki? Parrot Piki said Pupu ate the most because he hoarded them. But Turtle Tamu insisted Poki was the true sweet potato king—he was always munching on one during nap time!

One day, the jungle decided to settle the debate with a contest. Each monkey got a mountain of sweet potatoes, and the rules were simple: eat as many as you can in five minutes.

The drum rolled. “Go!” yelled the jaguar referee. Pupu stuffed his cheeks like a squirrel, bits of potato flying. Poki, ever the showman, peeled his sweet potatoes with flair before gobbling them down.

By the time the gong rang, the crowd cheered. Pupu lay on his back, groaning with a full belly. Poki gave a hiccup and smiled, his hands sticky and orange.

The final count? Pupu ate 21. Poki ate 23.

Cheers erupted. Poki had won!

But Pupu laughed too. “I may not have eaten more today,” he said, “but tomorrow, I’m bringing spicy sweet potato sauce!”

Since then, the debate continues, but with more laughs and less competition. And in the end, the real winner was Grandma Mango—because her sweet potatoes became the most famous in the jungle.
