One cloudy afternoon in the jungle, the sky rumbled with thunder and heavy raindrops began to fall. Most of the animals ran for cover, but not Pupu and Poki, the playful monkey twins. As soon as they saw the rain, they squealed with excitement.
“Rain time is play time!” Poki shouted.
“Let’s splash in the puddles!” giggled Pupu.
Without thinking twice, the two scampered out of their treehouse and leapt into the wet grass. They slid through the mud, danced under the raindrops, and even tried to catch falling drops with their tongues.
Splish! Splash! They were soaked from head to toe, their fur dripping and muddy, but their laughter echoed through the trees.
Back at home, Mama Monkey was peeling bananas when she noticed the twins were gone. She peeked outside—and gasped. 😱
“Oh no! Pupu! Poki! What are you doing out there in the rain?” she shouted, grabbing a big leaf to shield herself from the downpour.
The twins froze.
“Uh-oh,” Poki whispered. “We’re in trouble!”
Mama rushed over, slipping a little in the mud. “You two could catch a cold! Look at you—you’re drenched!”
Pupu hung her head. “We just wanted to play… the rain looked so fun.”
Mama sighed, then knelt down and gently brushed the mud off their faces. “I understand. Rain can be fun, but we need to be safe too. Come on, let’s get you warm and dry.”
Back home, she wrapped them in soft leaves, gave them warm banana soup, and sat beside them by the fire. The twins cuddled close, shivering a little but smiling.
“Next time,” Mama said with a grin, “we’ll make rain play safe. Raincoats, boots, and a big umbrella. Deal?”
“Deal!” Pupu and Poki cheered.
And from that day on, rainy days still meant fun—but with Mama’s rules, and a lot less mud!
