It was a sunny afternoon in the quiet little village where Lala and Lu lived side by side. The air was filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers, and birds chirped happily as if they too were excited for the day. Lala had just returned from the town market with her mother, carrying a bag full of surprises.
“Lu! Lu!” Lala called, running across the garden, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
Lu looked up from the book she was reading under the old cherry tree. “Hey, Lala! What’s going on?”
Lala twirled dramatically, her dress flaring out in a swirl of color. “Tada! Look at my new clothes!”
Lu gasped. “Wow, Lala! You look amazing!”
Lala beamed. She wore a flowing pink skirt with tiny embroidered flowers and a light yellow blouse with puffy sleeves. Around her waist was a shiny belt with a little bow, and on her feet were brand-new sparkly shoes. “Do you like it?” she asked, doing another little spin.
“I love it!” Lu said, standing up to get a better look. “You look like a princess from a storybook!”
Lala giggled. “Mama let me pick it all myself. She said I’m getting good at choosing what I like.”
Lu nodded. “You really are. The colors are perfect for you.”
“Wanna play fashion show?” Lala asked.
“Yes!” Lu said, clapping her hands.
Soon, the girls had lined up toys as their audience and created a little runway using a striped picnic blanket. Lala modeled her new clothes with style and confidence, while Lu announced each “look” with flair. They laughed, clapped, and imagined they were in a grand fashion hall in the city.
As the sun began to set, Lala and Lu sat side by side, tired but happy.
“Thanks for cheering me on, Lu,” Lala said.
“You always look lovely, Lala,” Lu replied with a smile. “But today, you’re absolutely glowing.”
They shared a giggle, knowing that the best part of the day wasn’t the clothes—it was sharing the joy together.
