Lala proactively boils corn when she’s hungry making surprising Thuy!

Lala was a clever little girl who lived in a cozy house with her older sister, Thuy. One warm afternoon, the sun was high in the sky, and the house was quiet. Thuy was busy reading a book in her room, while Lala’s stomach began to rumble loudly.

“Hmmm,” Lala mumbled to herself, rubbing her belly. “I’m really hungry… I want some corn!”

Normally, Lala would ask Thuy to cook for her, but today, she had a different idea. “I can do it myself!” she said with determination. She had watched Thuy boil corn many times before and remembered all the steps.

Lala tiptoed into the kitchen and gathered the ingredients: fresh corn, water, and a pinch of salt. She filled a pot with water, peeled the corn carefully, and placed it into the pot. She even remembered to turn on the stove safely and stayed close by while the corn cooked.

The smell of sweet corn soon filled the air.

Upstairs, Thuy sniffed the air and looked up from her book. “What is that smell? Is someone… cooking?”

She quickly walked down the stairs and peeked into the kitchen. To her shock, there was Lala, proudly standing by the stove with a big smile.

“Lala! Are you cooking?” Thuy asked, surprised but impressed.

“Yes!” Lala beamed. “I was hungry, so I decided to boil the corn myself.”

Thuy rushed over to check everything. The corn was boiling just right, and the kitchen was still clean. “Wow, Lala! You did such a good job. I’m really proud of you.”

Lala giggled. “Thanks! I wanted to surprise you.”

After a few more minutes, the corn was ready. The sisters sat down together and enjoyed the warm, buttery corn. It was delicious—not just because it was well-cooked, but because Lala had done it all by herself.

From that day on, Lala’s confidence grew, and Thuy knew her little sister was full of surprises.
