What Happened to Lyly??? Mom Tried to Wake Monkey Lyly Up for Lunch

It was a warm, sunny afternoon in the treetops of Banana Grove. The birds were chirping, the breeze was gentle, and the smell of ripe mango and roasted nuts filled the air. Monkey Mama had just finished preparing lunch — a delicious spread of steamed banana leaves, coconut rice, and juicy fruit slices.

“Lyly! Lunch is ready!” she called, wiping her hands.

But there was no answer.

Monkey Mama walked over to the cozy hammock where her little one, Lyly, had been napping since morning. She gently tapped Lyly’s shoulder. “Time to eat, sweetheart.”

Still no response.

Her brow furrowed. “Lyly?” she said, shaking the little monkey slightly.

Lyly didn’t budge. Her small arms were curled up, her breathing slow and steady. It looked like she was in an incredibly deep sleep. A moment of worry passed over Mama’s face.

“Lyly, wake up now. It’s not funny,” she said, a little more firmly.

Suddenly — SNORE!

A loud, silly snore escaped from Lyly’s mouth, followed by a little giggle. Her eyes fluttered open slowly, and she looked up at Mama with a lazy grin. “Hi, Mama… I was dreaming I was flying with parrots.”

Monkey Mama sighed in relief, then laughed. “You silly monkey! I thought something happened to you!”

Lyly yawned and stretched. “I’m just soooo sleepy today…”

“Well, you shouldn’t have stayed up all night playing tree-tag with the fireflies,” Mama said, tapping her on the nose. “Come on, lunch is waiting.”

Lyly’s ears perked up. “Did you make the mango coconut balls?”

“Yes,” Mama smiled.

In an instant, Lyly flipped out of the hammock and dashed to the table, now wide awake and bouncing with excitement.

As they sat together, sharing food and laughter, Mama shook her head and chuckled. “Next time, don’t scare me like that!”

Lyly giggled, mouth full. “I promise, Mama… after dessert.”
