It Was the First Time Poki Saw a Snow-White Rabbit

One chilly morning in the forest, Poki the monkey woke up to something strange—everything was quiet. Too quiet. The birds weren’t singing, and even the wind seemed to be holding its breath. Curious, Poki climbed to the top of his favorite tree and looked out over the meadow.

To his surprise, the grass and flowers were covered in a soft white blanket. “Snow!” Poki shouted with excitement. He had only seen snow once before, and it had melted quickly. But today, it looked like a magical white world.

Eager to explore, Poki grabbed his scarf and swung down from the tree. As he stepped into the snow, he giggled at the crunch beneath his feet. He made tiny paw prints as he walked, stopping to catch snowflakes on his nose.

Then, out of the corner of his eye, Poki saw something moving—something white, just like the snow. At first, he thought it was a snowball rolling down the hill. But as it came closer, he realized it was a small, fluffy creature.

“It’s a rabbit!” Poki whispered. “But not just any rabbit… a snow-white rabbit!”

The little rabbit had soft fur as white as the snow and bright pink eyes. She looked just as surprised to see Poki.

“Hello,” Poki said softly, not wanting to scare her. “I’m Poki. What’s your name?”

“I’m Luna,” the rabbit replied shyly. “I came down from the mountain to play in the snow.”

Poki smiled. “I’ve never seen a rabbit like you before. You’re beautiful—like a snowflake with ears!”

Luna giggled. “And you’re the first monkey I’ve met!”

The two new friends spent the day making snowballs, sliding on icy patches, and building a snow-bunny together. As the sun began to set, the forest glowed in golden light, and the snow sparkled like diamonds.

Poki looked at Luna and said, “This was the best snow day ever.”

Luna nodded. “It’s always special when you meet someone for the first time—and even better when you become friends.”
