One blustery afternoon in the jungle, a strong wind swept through Monkey Lyly’s village. Leaves, twigs, and trash flew everywhere. Empty banana peels landed in trees, paper wrappers clung to bushes, and even Mama Monkey’s laundry basket tipped over, spilling clothes across the ground.
When the wind finally settled, the village looked like a mess. Mama Monkey stood at the door, hands on her hips, surveying the damage. “Oh dear,” she sighed. “Look at all this trash! We have a big job ahead of us.”
Just then, little Monkey Lyly bounced over with wide eyes. “Mama, can I help?”
Mama smiled. “Of course, sweetheart. It’s a big task, but if we work together, we can clean it up faster.”
Without hesitation, Lyly grabbed a little basket and began picking up scattered banana peels. She even made a game out of it—each peel she grabbed earned her an imaginary “cleanup point.” She zoomed between bushes, collecting papers, leaves, and even a runaway sock.
Mama Monkey was so proud. “You’re working so hard, Lyly!”
Lyly grinned. “I want our jungle to be clean again! And maybe the birds and squirrels will come back once it’s tidy.”
Together, they sang a cleanup song, laughing as they chased after wrappers stuck in branches and socks hanging from vines. Lyly didn’t complain, not even once. She worked carefully, separating trash from things that could be reused or recycled.
After a while, the jungle looked neat again. The paths were clear, the trees looked happy, and the breeze felt softer now that it wasn’t blowing litter around.
Mama Monkey hugged Lyly tight. “Thank you for helping, my hardworking girl.”
Lyly beamed. “Helping feels good. I like taking care of our home!”
From that day on, whenever a breeze blew something out of place, Monkey Lyly was the first to grab her basket and say, “Let’s clean up!” Her hardworking spirit reminded everyone in the jungle that even little monkeys can make a big difference.
