Oh no? Pupu and Poki fought over the baby rabbit.

In a quiet meadow filled with wildflowers and sunshine, two best friends, Pupu the squirrel and Poki the hedgehog, were out for their usual afternoon stroll. They laughed, shared berries, and raced through the tall grass. Everything was perfect—until they heard a tiny sound coming from behind a bush.

“Did you hear that?” Pupu whispered.

Poki nodded. They carefully peeked behind the bush and gasped. There, shivering and alone, was a baby rabbit with big eyes and soft white fur. It looked scared and hungry.

“Aww, poor thing!” Pupu said, reaching out gently. “We have to take care of it!”

“I’ll take it home with me,” Poki said quickly. “My den is warm and cozy.”

“No way!” Pupu argued. “I found it first. My treehouse has soft leaves and a swing!”

The two friends started to bicker.

“I’m better at cuddling!”

“I know how to make carrot soup!”

The baby rabbit looked back and forth between them, wide-eyed and confused.

Soon, their voices grew louder, and birds flew from nearby trees. Even the ants stopped marching to see what the fuss was about.

“Oh no,” sighed a wise old owl from a branch above. “What’s more important—who gets to keep the baby, or what the baby actually needs?”

Pupu and Poki froze. They looked at each other, realizing their fight had frightened the rabbit even more.

“You’re right,” said Pupu. “We’re being selfish.”

Poki nodded. “Let’s take care of it together.”

They smiled and gently picked up the baby rabbit, wrapping it in soft leaves. They built a cozy nest at the edge of the meadow, where both could visit every day. They shared feeding duties, playtime, and snuggles.

The baby rabbit slowly started to smile, feeling safe and loved.

From that day on, the meadow echoed not with arguing voices, but with laughter, soft lullabies, and the patter of three happy friends playing under the sun.
