One bright Saturday morning, Lala woke up to the sound of trucks backing into her backyard. Curious and still a little sleepy, she rushed to the window and gasped in disbelief. Workers were unloading tools and digging up the lawn. Her heart raced as she turned to her mom.
“Mom! What’s happening outside?”
Her mom smiled and handed her a small envelope. Inside was a card that read: “Surprise! You’re getting your very own swimming pool!”
Lala squealed with joy and jumped up and down. “A pool? For me?!”
Her parents had been secretly planning the surprise for months. They knew how much Lala loved swimming and how disappointed she was every time summer ended and the public pool closed. Now, she’d have a pool of her own to splash in whenever she wanted.
Every day, Lala watched the progress from the window, documenting everything in her notebook. She learned the names of the equipment, sketched pictures of the builders, and even brought them lemonade on the hottest days.
After two weeks of construction, the pool was finally ready. It was sparkling blue, with a slide on one end and colorful tiles all around. Lala couldn’t believe her eyes.
On the grand opening day, she invited her friends and neighbors for a pool party. There were balloons, music, floats shaped like unicorns, and plenty of snacks. Lala wore her favorite swimsuit and dove right in, laughing louder than she ever had before.
As the sun began to set, she floated on her back, looking up at the sky, feeling grateful and happy.
“This is the best gift ever,” she whispered to herself.
Her parents smiled from the patio, knowing they had made her summer unforgettable.
From that day on, Lala’s backyard became the heart of the neighborhood—filled with laughter, friendship, and the sound of splashing water.
