Lala the little white dog was famous in the neighborhood for her sass. She had a spark in her eye, a bark that meant business, and a stubborn streak a mile long. But when it came to Thuy, her favorite human, Lala would do anything—well, almost anything.
One warm afternoon, Thuy brought home a new challenge: a fluffy, mischievous kitten named Lu. With big curious eyes and endless energy, Lu immediately took over the house—chasing curtains, knocking over water bowls, and trying to pounce on Lala’s tail.
At first, Lala was not impressed. She gave Thuy a “Seriously?” kind of look and kept her distance. But Thuy gently knelt beside her and whispered, “Lala, can you help me take care of Lu? She’s just a baby.”
Lala sighed the deepest doggy sigh, then nodded. She followed Lu around, taught her not to climb on the table, barked gently when Lu tried to chew the TV remote, and even shared her blanket during naptime.
For three whole days, Lala was patient, protective, and polite—a model big sister. She even let Lu cuddle beside her during a thunderstorm.
Thuy noticed everything.
On the fourth day, she opened the fridge and pulled out something magical: warm, juicy, perfectly cooked chicken breast.
“Lala,” she said, placing the treat in a special bowl, “you’ve been such a good girl. You helped take care of Lu so kindly. This is just for you!”
Lala’s eyes lit up. She trotted over, tail wagging so fast it was a blur. The first bite was heaven. The second? Even better.
As Lu watched curiously, Thuy gave the kitten a tiny nibble too. But the big prize? All Lala’s.
