Mom, Come Home Soon!… Monkey Lyly Anxiously Waits for Her Mother to Go to the Hospital

It was a quiet morning when Monkey Lyly woke up and noticed something strange—her mother wasn’t home. At first, she thought maybe Mom was just outside preparing breakfast or playing a little trick. But after calling out “Mommy?” a few times with no answer, Lyly began to worry.

She looked around the house, peeking behind the curtain and under the table, her tail twitching in concern. Then her aunt gently explained that Mom had to rush to the hospital early that morning because someone in the family needed help. Monkey Lyly’s big eyes filled with confusion and sadness. She didn’t completely understand what was happening, but she knew one thing for sure—she missed her mommy terribly.

The hours felt long and slow. Monkey Lyly sat by the front door with her little arms wrapped around her knees, occasionally glancing outside as if hoping her mother would suddenly appear with a warm smile and open arms. She didn’t want to play, didn’t want snacks, and didn’t even touch her favorite stuffed banana toy. Every little sound from outside made her ears perk up. “Is that Mom’s footsteps? Is she back yet?” she’d ask hopefully, only to be gently told, “Not yet, sweetie.”

To pass the time, Lyly drew a picture with crayons—her and her mom holding hands under the sun. She folded it carefully and said, “I’ll give this to Mom when she gets back, so she knows I was thinking of her.”

Finally, as the sky began to turn golden with evening light, the front gate creaked open. Lyly’s ears shot up, and her eyes sparkled as she rushed toward the door. It was her mother, looking tired but smiling gently. Without a word, Lyly jumped into her arms, hugging her tightly.

“Mom, I missed you so much,” she whispered.

Her mom kissed her forehead softly and said, “I missed you too, my brave little monkey.” And in that embrace, all the waiting and worry melted away.
