It was a bright, sunny morning when Dad decided it was the perfect time to pick coconuts from the tall palm trees behind the house. As soon as Cubis heard the word “coconut,” his eyes lit up with excitement. He followed Dad closely, chattering happily, clearly convinced that this was going to be a very important mission—and that he was the most qualified helper.
Dad prepared a long pole and carefully aimed it at the coconuts hanging high above. Cubis, not wanting to be left out, climbed onto a nearby fence to get a better view. Every time Dad poked the tree, Cubis copied the movement, waving his tiny arms as if he were directing the whole operation. He even nodded seriously, as though supervising Dad’s technique.
After a few tries, a coconut finally dropped to the ground with a loud thud. Before Dad could react, Cubis rushed over, hugging the coconut proudly. He tried to lift it, grunting with effort, then rolled it across the grass like a giant toy ball. His determination was impressive—and hilarious.
Then came the unexpected moment. While Dad focused on the next coconut, Cubis quietly dragged the first one behind him. Suddenly, Cubis climbed onto the coconut and sat on it like a throne, chest puffed out, looking extremely proud. Just as Dad turned around, Cubis lost his balance. The coconut rolled, Cubis spun, and with a surprised squeak, he gently tumbled onto the grass.
For a second, everything went silent. Then Cubis jumped up, completely unhurt, and began laughing in his own way—shaking his head, clapping his hands, and acting as if the fall was all part of the plan. Dad couldn’t stop laughing either, bending over with tears in his eyes.
Cubis ran back to Dad, pointing at the coconut as if demanding applause for his performance. The coconut-picking mission turned into a comedy show, with Cubis as the star. By the end of the morning, they had only picked a few coconuts, but they had gained something even better—shared laughter, unforgettable memories, and a reminder that with Cubis around, even the simplest chores can turn into super funny adventures.
